Birth trauma therapy
Are you looking to heal from a traumatic birth experience? You might be experiencing unwanted thoughts, images and memories, and finding yourself avoiding painful reminders. You might be struggling to relax or sleep, feeling on edge all the time. A traumatic birth can impact on our enjoyment of parenthood, and leave us questioning ourselves. It doesn’t have to be this way. I offer evidence-based therapies that bring relief to people experiencing these difficulties, including EMDR and CBT.
I am passionate about supporting women and birthing people to move through the torment of a traumatic birth, having seen the difference this can make to families. I work part-time in private practice and part-time in an NHS perinatal mental health service, and have a special interest in working with birth trauma and other reproductive traumas, such as loss and fertility challenges.
You might be recovering from a recent birth, or be pregnant now or considering another pregnancy. Even if you’ve been carrying this distress for a long time, please know healing is still possible. It’s never too late.
